Shipping and Delivery Status

How will I know whether my order has been shipped?

When you place an order on officeuniverse.com, we will send you an email confirmation about your order. Usually most products are delivered the next day between 9am - 5pm. If an item is not in stock in our local warehouse or out of stock we will contact you within 24 hours and keep you posted with an estimated delivery or item substitute options.

How can I check on my order's delivery status?

Sign in to your account to view your order history and click on the link containing your tracking number. As an added convenience, you can re-order frequently purchased item(s) automatically without the extra steps of searching for an item by just checking the item and adding it to your cart.

What if I don't receive my order by the scheduled delivery date?

If you don't receive your order by 5:00 pm on the scheduled delivery date, let us know.

I received most of my order, but I'm missing one item, what should I do?

First check your order and shipment confirmation emails to determine if your missing item is scheduled to ship separately. If your missing item was scheduled to arrive with other items, but was missing, please contact Customer Service for assistance.

Delivery Timing

How long can I expect my order in?

Most orders of office supplies, paper, breakroom & coffee, facilities maintenance and technology are shipped free and delivered the next day from the date the order was placed in the New York metro area.

For orders outside the NY metro area placed before 3pm are shipped free next day and delivered within 1-2 business days. Orders outside the NY metro area placed post 3pm are shipped free within 1-2 business days and received within 2-3 business days.

Office Universe will notify you if an items that you have ordered is currently low on stock or unavailable in our local warehouse the next day and keep you posted on the tentative delivery dates. For items that are discontinued, we will try our best to find you a reasonable substitute, or simply cancel the item from your order if you request.

Furniture order delivery timings vary from product to product. Your Account Executive may be able to help determine a delivery date.

Do I have to wait at my office all day for my delivery?

For your security and protection, it's best to have someone available to sign for your order between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Our drivers' delivery routes change from day to day so there is no way to determine the exact time your order will be delivered.

What time can I expect my order to be delivered?

For almost all orders placed before 5pm, our drivers will deliver them between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Since our drivers' delivery routes change from day to day, we cannot determine an approximate time your order will be delivered.

Can I specify a delivery date/time for my order?

We are unable to specify a particular time for your order to be delivered.

  • Office supply orders: Items stocked in an Office Universe warehouse can generally be delivered any weekday.
  • Furniture orders: Delivery date changes cannot be guaranteed, however, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Furniture Delivery

I'm buying furniture. Can Office Universe assemble it for me?

Yes, Office Universe offers furniture assembly if requested. The cost will vary from product to product, and in most cases for large custom orders there will be an on-site representative to supervise the setup. It is best to speak with your Account Executive about furniture assembly.

Shipping and Delivery Policy

Is there free shipping?

Yes, Office Universe offers free next day shipping on most orders unless specified at checkout in the NY metro area.

What is Freight Delivery?

Freight Delivery is a freight charge which applies to the item if it cannot be shipped from our warehouse, is a heavy item, or is a special item which we have to specially purchase for you. The freight charges are dependent on the item and vary from item to item.

Can I purchase multiple items at the same time but have them shipped separately?

Unfortunately, no. That said, we might ship your items separately based on availability, or if they're coming from multiple suppliers, If you don't want all your items at the same time, we suggest putting in separate orders.

You can also use our Auto Ship function to schedule orders of items you want to be shipped separately, but each item needs to be scheduled individually.

What happens if my item arrived and it was defective?
